What the visit looks like

The longest part of the appointment is conversation rather than examination: cycle dates, previous pregnancies and births, past surgery, current medication. Bring the dates of your last two cycles and any reports from earlier follow-up — it removes a lot of questions.

Then comes the clinical examination, often with an ultrasound in the same room. Pregnancy follow-up is not one appointment but a series, at intervals your practitioner sets as things progress.

  5. Confirm. The appointment appears in the app, together with your queue number if the practitioner works that way.

  6. Turn up at the time or the number shown. Consultations are paid at the clinic. If something comes up, cancel in the app ahead of time so the place goes to someone else.
